‘a world of possibilities’

Virtual Sports Week

Hi, Everybody,

We just wanted to say how amazed we all are at Chantlers for taking part in our ‘Virtual Sports Week’.

We have enjoyed seeing all of your efforts and dedication you have shown in participating. We also need to take this opportunity to say ‘Well done’ to our staff at school, some have been very competitive.

Well done and congratulations to Pankhurst for achieving 1st place with 1,935 points. We will have a special treat for you when we come back in September.

We hope that you and your family have enjoyed taking part in our event and we hope that next year, we can hold our ‘normal’ exciting events where we can watch and cheer you on in the races.

We hope you have a lovely summer and will continue to do some of the activities to increase your personal best!

Take care,

Miss Carr

26th June 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Under the current circumstances we are unable to hold our annual Sports Day. So, this year we have decided to hold a Virtual Sports Week for 2020.

So, come on your house team needs your help to win!

The idea is that each child can complete a range of activities from home and collect points for their house team. Each entry must be evidenced on the activity template and when completed sent back to your child’s class teacher.  If you wish to send videos or photographs as evidence of the completed activity you can also email these to the teacher at the same time.

If you are unsure of which house team your child is in, please don’t hesitate to email their class teacher.

You will be able to keep a track of how your house is doing as Mr. Sharp will update the team totals on the website daily.

Our Virtual Sports Week 2020 will be held from the week beginning 6th July 2020 and will run until Monday 13th July 2020 at 12pm.

All submissions must be emailed by 12pm on Monday 13th July, as late submissions will not be counted.

All activities can be completed by ALL ages and the children can pick and choose which ones they would like to do. We’ve decided to present our Virtual Sports Day similar to a game of bingo. Each completed activity is worth 10 points.

However, you can receive an extra 10 more points if you complete activities in a line (vertical or horizontal and diagonal) and an extra 25 points if you complete the full house.

During that week we are also encouraging you to eat healthy foods. If you return your menu with your completed form to your teacher you could earn an extra 25 points for your house.

If you get another person to do 6 challenges with you and provide evidence you can earn 50 more points for your house.

We will announce our winning house team on Friday 17th July and the winning House Captains will receive the trophy on behalf of their house as part of the Year 6 Leavers Celebration and it will be uploaded onto our website for you all to see.

Each child who takes part will receive a certificate online.

The rules are:

  • Each activity completed is worth 10 points.
  • A line in any directions scores an extra 10 points.
  • A full house scores an extra 25 points.
  • Please only complete each activity once and enter your evidence required on the template.
  • If you are sending photos or videos please send it to your child’s class teacher.

Critical key worker/ Reception/Pre-School and Year 6 children will have the opportunity to do some of these activities in school during that week as they will be in school.

The Activity Template will be sent home with children that are in school and will be sent to all families via ParentHub and available on the website prior to Virtual Sports Day commencing.

We hope that it will be a fun week and all learning packs this week will be linked to the Olympics and we look forward to seeing all your entries.

Kind Regards,

Miss Carr
